AVA APPLE

Ava Apple (She/Her), a San Francisco native, has been dancing professionally since her teens. She has performed & taught throughout the USA, Hong Kong, Italy, and The Netherlands and has received awards for her contribution to the world of Salsa & Latin Dance at the 2002 West Coast Salsa Congress, the 2003 SF Salsa Congress, and the 2003 Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts 25th Anniversary celebration. Her dance background includes training in jazz, ballet, tap, flamenco, belly dance, American rhythm, international Ballroom, West Coast Swing, Salsa/Mambo and other Latin nightclub dances, as well as her favorite partner dance – New York Latin Hustle. She has danced competitively in the Latin, Hustle, W.C. Swing and Ballroom dance communities. Ava founded her dance company - The Latin Symbolics - in 1991. They are known for their use of difficult partner lifts and acrobatics combined with Salsa, NY Latin Hustle, and other dance genres. Ms. Apple has danced in commercials for Fitbit, and Next Insurance, and is a respected competition judge in the Latin Dance community.
