TANILEE AMOR

Tanilee Amor is founder, choreographer and artistic director of Amor Do Samba, an afro-latin music and dance company established in 2011.  Tanilee studied dance at UCLA, and trains in Brazil, Peru, Uganda and Mexico. In 2024 she paraded in Rio Carnaval with 2 samba schools as a passista, Encima da Hora, and Imperio Serrano.  In 2018 she was a Musa do Samba for G.R.E.S. Renascer de Jacarepagua, was chosen to lead a contingent for Porta da Pedra samba school, and was first runner up in Rio, Brazil for a local samba competition.  This year, she led a contingent for SF Carnaval, with original musical brazilian composition for her samba school and performed a live enredo with the bateria, for the parade. She currently teaches Samba on Wednesdays at 6:45pm at Casa de Cultura located in Berkeley.
